What is the Literary Prize Boccaccio

A Literary Award established in Certaldo in honor of Giovanni Boccaccio, author of the Decameron, and given to Italian writers.

The 'Cultural Association Giovanni Boccaccio' was created in 1982 in the name of the illustrious novelist,  who had lived in the medieval village of Certaldo Alta. The "Boccaccio Literary Prize" is awarded to an Italian writer, novelist and essayist, with particular merit in the field of literary works produced. Over the years the award has been enriched with the selection of the writers and the international recognition of the journalistic career, becoming culturally highly rated.
